DALLAS, Texas – AFC Victory Fund today congratulates South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson on his election as the state's next governor. AFC Victory Fund endorsed Wilson ahead of the election, citing his support for empowering parents to choose the school where their children can thrive.
Wilson has committed to protecting South Carolina's school choice progress and building on it as governor. The state’s Education Scholarship Trust Fund (ESTF) program already reached its statutory limit of 15,000 students for the 2026–27 school year. Almost 20,000 applicants remain on a waitlist, demonstrating South Carolinians’ ongoing demand for more educational options.
At the federal level, Governor-elect Wilson is positioned to ensure families can continue to benefit from Education Freedom Tax Credit (EFTC) scholarships by continuing to opt in. An estimated 782,521 South Carolina K–12 students, or 87.7% of the state's students, will be eligible for scholarships following the credit’s launch in January 2027.
