AFC Victory Fund Endorses Zach Lahn for Iowa Governor

DALLAS, Texas – AFC Victory Fund today announced its endorsement of Zach Lahn for Governor of Iowa, backing the candidate who supports continuing Iowa’s progress on school choice and giving parents greater control over their children’s education.

The state’s Students First Education Savings Account program, enacted in 2023, is now available to all Iowa K-12 students who meet the program’s requirements, regardless of income. Iowa families have embraced educational freedom in record numbers, and Zach Lahn will make sure they keep it.

Lahn has described school choice as a foundational freedom and has emphasized the importance of giving parents greater say over where their children attend school. His opponent is a fierce critic of school choice, threatening to impose arbitrary policies that would strictly limit access and ultimately disempower Iowans who deserve to choose the schools in which their children will thrive.

Statement from Tommy Schultz, CEO, AFC Victory Fund:

“Zach Lahn knows that parents, not politicians, should have the greatest say in where and how their children are educated. Iowa families have embraced school choice in record numbers, and Lahn will build on that progress rather than turn back the clock.

“The contrast in this race is stark. Zach Lahn supports empowering parents with more choices while Rob Sand has repeatedly attacked Iowa’s program and proposed an array of restrictions on it. AFC Victory Fund is proud to endorse Lahn because Iowa families deserve a governor who will protect the educational freedom they have today while working to expand school choice in the future.”

About AFC Victory Fund:

AFC Victory Fund is a federal independent expenditure-only committee, or Super PAC, affiliated with the American Federation for Children, and is committed to defending and advancing school choice at every level of government.
