DALLAS, Texas – AFC Victory Fund today congratulated Tommy Tuberville on his election as Alabama's next governor, marking a victory for a longtime champion of school choice and parental empowerment. Coach Tuberville, who received AFC Victory Fund's endorsement, has consistently advocated for expanding educational opportunities for families at the state and federal levels.
Coach Tuberville called for expanding Alabama's CHOOSE Act, which makes education savings accounts available through a refundable tax credit. This school year, 34,000 children received support through the program. He also voted for the federal bill that made the historic Education Freedom Tax Credit (EFTC) possible, under which an estimated 94% of Alabama K-12 students will be eligible to receive scholarships when it launches in January 2027.
As governor, Coach Tuberville will have the opportunity to build on Alabama's progress in expanding education freedom and ensure more families can access learning environments that meet their children's unique needs. His victory underscores the growing momentum driving education freedom and the importance voters place on electing leaders who will stand with parents.
Statement from Tommy Schultz, CEO, AFC Victory Fund:
“Congratulations to Coach Tuberville on this well-deserved victory. Alabama families are gaining a governor who understands that parents deserve a real say in their children's education, and he has the record to back it up. From championing the CHOOSE Act to passing the federal Education Freedom Tax Credit in the U.S. Senate, Coach Tuberville has demonstrated that he will fight to give more children access to the education that's right for them.
“Tonight's results reflect that Alabama voters are electing leaders who will defend the school choice strides we've made and push for even greater educational opportunities for students. AFC Victory Fund is proud to have supported Coach Tuberville, and we look forward to seeing Alabama continue to lead on education freedom under his administration.”
