AFC Victory Fund Endorses Don Huffines for Comptroller, Mayes Middleton for Attorney General in Texas
DALLAS, Texas – AFC Victory Fund today announced its endorsements of school choice champions Don Huffines for Comptroller of Public Accounts and Mayes Middleton for Attorney General ahead of the 2026 general election in November.
Appointed Acting Comptroller of Public Accounts earlier this year, Don Huffines reported in August that more than 101,000 students have received Texas Education Freedom Account (TEFA) funds since the program’s launch. With more than 100,000 students remaining on the waitlist, Acting Comptroller Huffines supports expanding this successful program. As Comptroller, Texans can count on him to carefully steward this lifechanging program as he works to expand its reach to include even more Texas families.
Longtime school choice champion Senator Mayes Middleton strongly supported Senate Bill 2, the legislation that established TEFA, the largest day-one school choice program launch in history. As Attorney General, Sen. Middleton will work tirelessly to protect and defend the educational freedom Texas families deserve.
